1. How Long Will It Take for Biological Stains to Disappear?

The removal time is dependent on the amount of rainfall (rain reactivates CitraClean), the severity/type of the stain. Green algae has a small and weak root structure and is the quickest to be removed usually in 1-3 days. Black algae has a tougher exterior and a much deeper root structure, therefore taking much longer to disappear, typically 4-8 weeks is typical.

2. How Do I Know CitraClean Is Working?

Upon application, the reaction between CitraClean and the treated area causes a change in color. Black stains will often turn brown or orange while green stains might turn brown. This is a good thing. These colors will go away over time along with the stains.

3. Why Is Maintenance Cleaning Necessary?

Now that your exterior is free of mold, algae, and fungus – Keep It Clean!  Maintenance is suggested every six months at a fraction of the original cost. A reapplication at lower concentrations every six months will keep your property free from contaminants for years!  CitraClean application after pressure washing can also be done for a fraction of the pressure washing costs. Initial applications are performed using a much higher concentration than maintenance cleanings.  If a maintenance cleaning is declined by the customer, service will need to be billed at initial application rates.

4. Does CitraClean Eliminate Pressure Washing?

In many cases, CitraClean is a better choice than pressure washing such as awning cleaning, maintenance cleanings, delicate surfaces and when bleach cannot be used. In certain situations, pressure washing is a necessity to remove heavy building up of dirt, mud, grime, and gum. After these areas are restored, CitraClean is the perfect solution for keeping areas free from mold, algae, and fungus.
